Chief Justice Roberts Roots
What do Janet and Michael Jackson have in common with U.S. SupremeCourt Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.? They all grew up in Indiana and had fathers who were employed in the steel industry. There are some differences though. Joseph Jackson, Janet and Michael’s father, was born into a share cropper’s family in Fountain Hill, Ark. Joseph Jackson moved north and worked as a crane operator at U.S. Steel’s Gary, Ind., works before becoming full-time manager of the Jackson 5.
